Camp Staff Leader (Non-Career)

Base pay range: $112.63/daily – $128.72/daily
Job OverviewJoin the Summer 2026 season as a Camp Staff Leader. The role involves interacting with campers during day or evening sessions, serving as role models, participating in campfire shows and athletic events, serving meals, and leading hikes and other outings. Room and board will be provided while two overnight camps are located near South Lake Tahoe and Yosemite, with programs running from mid‑June to late August.

Responsibilities- Interact with campers in day or evening sessions.
- Serve as a positive role model for campers.
- Participate in campfire shows and athletic events.
- Serve meals to campers.
- Lead hikes and other outdoor outings.
- Completion of junior year of high school and age 17 by appointment date.
- Experience in an organized recreational or educational program related to coaching children, municipal recreation family camp programs, or general maintenance/food service procedures including basic cooking.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may include early mornings and evenings.
- Maintenance of a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record when driving on City business.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- For positions involving lifeguarding and water activities: possession of current American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification. Previous life‑guarding and instruction experience is desirable for some positions.
