Job Summary

The Outpatient Oncology Clinical Nurse II serves in a leadership role and delivers direct patient care to an assigned adult Oncology outpatient population. This nurse is experienced and highly skilled with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the cancer disease process, the major treatment modalities, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education. At this operational level, the nurse proactively embraces the Oncology Nursing Society/Standards of Oncology Nursing practice to utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care.

The nurse utilizes an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care with adherence to National Patient Safety Goals set forth by regulatory requirements. The nurse is recognized and utilized as a clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification  positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $93.47 - $112.11 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

* Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient medical or surgical oncology nursing experience in the last five years.

* Minimum of 3 years Orthopedic experience

* Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

* This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications

* OCN Certification or other relevant specialty certification

* 5 years or more of recent Medical Oncology experience

* 5 years or more of recent Surgical Oncology experience

* Minimum of 2 years of Telephone Triage nursing experience

* BSN
