Job Summary
Registered Nurse Pediatric Diabetes Clinic
. Part Time, 50%. The nurse will execute, manage, and coordinate research protocols as directed by the Clinical Research Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator (PI). The role will coordinate the data collection and operations of several concurrent clinical research studies under the guidelines of research protocols, UCSF and regulating agency policies. The nurse will also assist with patient care and education related to pediatric diabetes management, including continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump therapy, and technology use.
- One (1) year of clinical experience in Pediatric Diabetes, and additional experience in general pediatric endocrinology
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), or obtain certification within 6 months of employment
- Minimum one (1) year experience with continuous glucose sensors, insulin pumps, and automated insulin delivery systems in pediatric patients
- Experience providing individualized and group diabetes education covering nutrition, medication management, insulin administration, glucose monitoring, ketone monitoring, and technology use
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
- Proficient in APEX, WebPACs, Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of insulin pump downloads, continuous glucose downloads, and glucose meter downloads
- PALS Certification
- Good Clinical Practice and relevant clinical research experience
- CA RN license
- AHA CPR certification
- AHA PALS
- AHA ACLS
