Position:
Wellness Nurse (Hiring must be approved by VP of Health Services prior to posting).

Shifts:

Tuesday - Saturday. Pay: $40 - $45 per hour.

The Wellness Nurse is a licensed nurse responsible for coordinating resident care and medication management under the medical direction and supervision of attending physicians.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with community healthcare professionals about residents’ care needs.
• Coordinate incidental medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care.
• Perform nursing duties and administer medications per Physician orders.
• Support Medication Technicians in delivering medications.
• Assist with resident assessment tasks.
• Conduct staff interviews and observe residents, communicating changes to physicians and Executive Director.
• Complete thorough documentation in resident charts per company policy and state regulations.
• Review and monitor staff use of the Shift Report and participate in change-of-shift meetings.
• Coordinate prescription orders and pharmacy delivery; oversee central storage.
• Communicate with residents and responsible parties about preferred pharmacy and incontinence programs.

Qualifications

• Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse with a valid California nursing license in good standing.
• Prefer one year of experience in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
• Proficient in MS Office. Comfortable with standard office equipment.
• Knowledge or ability to learn assisted living and dementia care.
• Patient and capable of interacting with cognitively impaired seniors.
• Valid first aid and CPR certification.
• Passes Criminal Background check and Health Screening, including physical and TB tests.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination and PPE requirements per regulations.
