Job Summary

Manages the delivery of ambulatory patient care, which typically includes nursing and may include laboratory, radiology, dental, and other services. Facilitates the flow of patient care activities and may also participate in practice or center management operations.

Salary Range

$191,800 – $256,600 (Annual Rate). Salary placement depends on experience, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreements for union‑represented positions.

Department Description

Primary Care at China Basin, Berry, and Waterfront clinics focuses on keeping patients healthy and providing care when they are sick. The medical team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff such as medical assistants, licensed vocational nurses, registered nurses, and administrative staff. Services are offered to patients across their lifespan with board‑certified pediatricians and family medicine physicians skilled in disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment of all types of medical problems from acute injuries to chronic, complex conditions.

Required Qualifications
  • Two or more years of clinical nursing supervisory and/or management experience
  • Two or more years of RN experience in an ambulatory family practice setting
  • Strong clinic / center patient care management skills
  • Practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer‑service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and/or information technology
  • Broad knowledge of the patient population served and the requirements for service delivery
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision‑making
  • Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and staff from all disciplines
  • Ability to create and maintain a goal‑oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration, and consistent achievement of objectives
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments
  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently
  • Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic / center healthcare industry
Preferred Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Master's Degree
License / Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California and/or licensure in relevant clinical specialty
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
