Position: NURSE ANESTHETIST NURSE SR NEX

Job Summary

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Administers anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures in an operating room, or to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures outside the OR, under the supervision of a faculty member of the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Care at the UCSF Medical Center.

Department Description

CRNAs at UCSF are integral to perioperative care. They collaborate with anesthesiologists to form an anesthesia care team and provide services across UCSF campuses.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and meeting California Board of Registered Nursing requirements.
• Graduation from a school of anesthesia accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Schools of Anesthesia.
• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthetist program.
• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

• Active, unrestricted Nurse Anesthetist licensure in California.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in California.
• Current National Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association PALS certification.
• Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
