Overview
Job Title: Resident Services Coordinator (Seniors Sites)
Department: Resident Services Department
Reports To: Program Manager, Resident Services
Job Status: Full-time, Nonexempt
Compensation: $29.00/hour to $32.00/hour, DOE; medical, dental, vision, & retirement plan
Summary:
Mission Housing Development Corporation’s Resident Services component seeks to foster healthy communities and promote self-sufficiency by improving community relations, facilitating access to resources, and providing opportunities for personal goal achievement for residents of Mission Housing’s communities. Employee may be assigned the responsibility of more than one site.
Essential Functions:
Community Resources- Provide general assistance and advocacy related to supportive and social services to all residents; provide up-to-date information and clarificationregradingprograms such as Medicare, Medical, entitlements, and formal supportive and social services.
- Research, identify, and link residents with resources such as rental assistance, transportation, adult education, health services, and employment assistance, SSI, food stamps, and prescription drug assistance, senior services and all pertinent services that would benefit our community/residents.
- Establishrelationshipwith, maintain and also follow up with community service providers.
- Work closely with Property Management staff and on-site service providers to identify specific supportiveneeds asrelated to lease violations and household housing stability.
Followup and update supervisors on the outcome of any referrals provided toResident
Services Coordinator. - Compile information and eligibility requirements for neighborhood and City-wide resources.
- Organize community resource displays with information and applications.
- Assist with planning and coordinating fundraising activities that support assigned sitesand forthe goals of Mission Housing.
- Perform other duties as considered appropriate and consistent with the mission of Mission Housing, including working at occasional community-building activities, programs and events(i.e., annual on-property community activities, Carnaval, Sunday Streets, fundraisers, etc.) – asneeded or assigned, during or outside regular business hours.
- Explore and provide on-site educational speakers and workshops that fulfill compliance requirements for Mission Housing Regulatory Agreements for assigned sites. This may include topics such as but not limitedto:events and programs, health issues, financial literacy, computer training, job searching, and other life skills
- Set up office hours at each assigned building and advertise office hours for residents to meet with and request referrals
- Recruit and supervise volunteers to assist with programs
- Assist residents in building informal support networks with other residents, family members, and friends
- Create opportunities for residents to get involved with community activities.
- Coordinate resident training for leadership roles, such as developing and implementing beneficial programming
- Organize onsite community-building events
- Exchange resources with other Resident Services staff and collaborate on programs and community-building activities, as appropriate
- Produce a monthly calendar of events and activities
- Coordinate with organizing, planning, and executing community-building activities such as Food Access Program and Outreach Campaigns.
- Accurately complete and submit timesheets by deadlines, reporting hours of work performed and allocating time on CAS report, monthly service reports, grant reports, activities budgets, program reporting, and any other required paperwork/reporting needed for the department.
- Prepare reports regarding services provision and update services plan in accordance with regulatory agreements, Letter of Cooperation, contracts, etc.
- Submit accurate monthly reconciliations toaccountingdepartmentin a timely manner.
- Conduct surveys to assess resident needs, tabulating survey results to evaluate programs in order to plan relevant programs for the communities that you serve.
- Create monthly calendars of events and activities, producing outreach flyers and quarterly newsletters to keep the community informed if applicable.
- Responsible for maintaining a current and updated outlook calendar of activities at assigned sites.
- Maintain thorough resident files on all work performed, followupand document outcomes.
- Document contact with residents, providers, and families. Keep resident files current.
- Attendappropriate internal and external meetings as assigned by supervisor or Department Head. Such meetings may include:
Resident Services Department Meetings,Staff Training, Programs Supportive Housing Network meetings, Public Hearings, Community Meetings, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in related fieldortwo years of experience in community services coordination and social service in lieu of degree
