Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Family Services Specialist for a mission-driven nonprofit organization that supports families and children during periods of housing instability. This is a full-time, onsite position based in San Francisco, CA, supporting programming across multiple local sites.
Position OverviewThis hands‑on, community‑focused role supports children from infancy through adolescence by creating safe, engaging, and inclusive environments during times of transition. The Family Services Specialist partners closely with families, volunteers, and internal teams to support children’s wellbeing, enrichment, and development. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is compassionate, organized, and motivated by meaningful, impact‑driven work.

- Facilitate age‑appropriate programming including enrichment activities, tutoring, creative play, and group outings in a safe and welcoming environment
- Support after school and enrichment programs, including transportation coordination and academic engagement
- Communicate with families regarding programming, resources, and opportunities for children
- Collaborate with team members and volunteers to plan inclusive activities and events
- Maintain accurate participant documentation and service records using internal systems
- Respond appropriately to emergencies while coordinating with staff and external partners
- Experience supporting children and/or families in community‑based, nonprofit, or social service environments
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
- Strong communication, organization, and follow‑through skills
- Sound judgment and comfort maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
This career opportunity provides a starting hourly pay of $26 to $28 DOE, plus medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week.
