Brand Marketing Specialist

This position collaborates closely with its marketing counterpart to develop and shape concepts and positioning around product. Passion for beauty and innovation, flexibility, the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and a keen attention to detail are critical in this role.

• Overall support and assist the product development process from concept to counter
• Brainstorm innovative product and ingredient ideas
• Assist in drafting lab briefs and proactively communicating with multiple labs
• Collaborate with internal Packaging Team on component development
• Collaborate with internal Brand and Creative Teams on product naming, positioning, vision
• Collaborate with Regulatory Team on ingredient/formula compliance
• Assist with managing lab samples and provide accurate feedback to vendors
• Assist with managing product safety testing when necessary
• Assist with management of consumer &/or clinical testing when necessary
• Support and assist with management of internal consumer testing
• Help to set standards, specification and ranges
• Evaluate and approve/reject batches versus standards in an accurate and timely manner
• Advise Quality Team on QC of first production
• Track, update and target completion based on detailed timelines
• Responsible for artwork review, approval and accuracy
• Attend weekly project status meetings and update inter department spreadsheets/database
• Maintain an innovation competitive library of product
• Create and maintain product boards
• Formula and packaging sample request and Market week liaison
• Complete administrative tasks as needed including shipping, filing/organizing and meeting preparation

• Computer literate including proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Excellent color vision and understanding of color theory
• Firm grasp of competitive beauty products with a passion for the industry
• Testing of application and use of cosmetic and skin care products that may contain fragrances, AHAs and/or other active or non-active ingredients
• Fluent in English
• BA/BS or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years in beauty industry
