Electrical Test Tech/Soldering/SMT – San Francisco (Bay Area Opportunity)

Contract: 3–6 Months (Potential for Extension)

Pay: $45/hr W2

We are seeking an experienced SMT Soldering Technician to support R&D and low-volume manufacturing of electro-mechanical and optical products. This position requires strong hands‑on soldering skills, PCB testing experience, and the ability to troubleshoot board-level issues in a fast‑paced environment.

• Perform precision SMT soldering and rework of fine‑pitch components under a microscope
• Remove, replace, reflow, and touch up components on dense PCB assemblies
• Conduct PCB power‑up, continuity checks, and functional testing
• Troubleshoot and repair solder and board‑level electrical defects
• Inspect assemblies to IPC workmanship standards
• Support prototype builds and low‑volume production
• Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures
• Document test results and rework activity

• 2+ years of hands‑on SMT soldering experience
• Strong microscope soldering experience with small, fine‑pitch components
• Experience with PCB testing, power‑up, and basic electrical troubleshooting
• Proficiency with hand soldering tools, hot air rework stations, and test equipment
• Ability to read schematics and assembly documentation
• High attention to detail and quality standards

• Experience supporting R&D or prototype builds
• IPC certification (IPC‑A‑610 or J‑STD‑001)
• Experience with electro‑mechanical or optical assemblies
• Experience in low‑volume or high‑mix manufacturing environments
