Contract: 3–6 months (potential extensions)
Pay: $45/hr, W2
OverviewWe are seeking a hands‑on SMT Soldering Technician to support R&D and manufacturing of electro‑mechanical and optical products. This role is soldering‑heavy and focused on precision SMT work under a microscope, along with PCB board testing, power‑up, and basic electrical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has strong experience reworking fine‑pitch and miniature components on dense PCB assemblies.
Responsibilities- Perform precision SMT soldering and rework of small, fine‑pitch components under a microscope
- Execute component removal, replacement, reflow, and touch‑up on dense PCB assemblies
- Rework PCBA components down to 0201 size and leadless packages (QFN, DFN, LGA)
- Perform PCB board power‑up, continuity checks, and basic functional testing
- Troubleshoot and repair board‑level electrical and solder‑related issues
- Inspect solder joints and assemblies for quality and workmanship
- Support prototype builds and low‑volume production
- Follow ESD, safety, and quality standards and document rework and test results
- 2+ years of hands‑on SMT soldering experience
- Strong experience soldering small components under a microscope
- Proven experience reworking PCBA components down to 0201 size and leadless packages (QFN, DFN, LGA)
- Experience with PCB testing, power‑up, and basic troubleshooting
Familiarity with hand soldering tools, hot air rework, and test equipment - High attention to detail and comfort working on delicate assemblies
