RITUAL COFFEE FULL-TIME PRODUCTION TEAM MEMBER (THE ROASTERY) role at Ritual Coffee Roasters
Join us at our SoMa roastery where you will package roasted coffee and prepare orders for wholesale accounts, e‑commerce customers, and our cafés. This role coordinates with our roasting and orders departments to ensure each order is fulfilled efficiently and accurately.
OverviewRitual Coffee Roasters is seeking a hard‑working, self‑aware, flexible, and communicative Production Team Member. The team member will pack roasted coffee, prepare orders, and coordinate with the roasting and orders departments. The pace can move quickly; emphasis is on teamwork, collaboration, and meticulous attention to detail. We support one another, treat colleagues with respect, and view the success of the roastery through thoughtful communication and commitment to growth—both personal and for the team and the company.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the overall culture and business growth using our Culture Guide for self‑reflection and ongoing commitment to self‑growth and the growth of others and the company.
- Participate in or lead improvement committees and projects when needed.
- Collaborate on packaging and fulfillment of roasted coffee for all orders, shipments, and deliveries.
- Maintain accountability for the accuracy, presentation, and efficiency of packaging all orders.
- Execute delivery runs of coffee and goods to retail locations and selected wholesale accounts.
- Fulfill goods and merchandise accurately for orders and communicate with the Inventory Manager as needed.
- Maintain strong communication between all Ritual departments.
- Maintain a clean and safe production space, surrounding areas, and equipment.
- Assist with ordering various production supplies such as boxes, tape, bulk and retail stickers, packing material, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi‑task, and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Resourceful problem‑solver with the ability to resolve or smooth issues in the moment.
- Comfortable using dexterity of hands for continuous periods of time.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Able to lift 75 lbs.
- Excellent interpersonal one‑on‑one, team, and partnership skills.
- Maintain calm and focus in a loud, fast‑paced environment.
- Adaptable to unexpected changes in workload.
- Work independently while taking direction.
- Think strategically with a big‑picture perspective.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (Required).
- CA Driver’s license (Required).
- 1+ years manufacturing or production experience.
- Experience with XPS, Shopify, and other mailing and e‑commerce platforms.
- Mechanically‑minded.
- Computer skills:
Shopify, Slack, Google Docs. - Forklift certification – a plus.
- Regular and consistent attendance and ability to stand and work with hands and arms for at least eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week.
- Physical ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, walk, crawl, push, and pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Stand and move throughout the roastery space.
- Perform basic math and fractions to complete recipes.
- Other responsibilities include written reports, adherence to deadlines, and basic communication in English.
- Ability to work overtime occasionally and accommodate temperatures as low as 0°F and as high as 100°F.

Classification & SupervisionThis is a regular, hourly non‑exempt position, 30–40 hours per week. The Production Team Member will be expected to work at least one weekend day; current needs are Sunday–Thursday. The Assistant Head of Roastery Operations provides general supervision.
