Wire Harness Technician

The Wire Harness Technician will be primarily responsible for assembling harnesses used on the spacecraft, in environmental testing, and for hardware development activities. They will uphold quality standards congruent with space applications, interface directly with harness manufacturing and design engineers in design document and work instruction review, and be responsible for area organization, 5S implementation, maintaining production equipment, and documentation diligence inside of the manufacturing execution system.

Role
  • Build harnesses; read and digest the schematic and work instructions then execute cutting, stripping, and crimping tasks.
  • Execute connectorizations by adding harnesses to existing standalone hardware.
  • Maintain detailed documentation by marking steps completed, noting non‑conformances discovered, and proposing potential assembly improvements.
  • Execute testing of harnesses (DMM, automated tester).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to brainstorm and support overall manufacturing improvements.
  • Uphold quality standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience working hands‑on as a technician in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in wire crimping and harness assembly.
  • Familiarity with precision tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand for long durations, grasp, sit, pull, and perform physical bending movements.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Role requires onsite work.
  • U.S. citizenship or Green Card.
Bonus
  • Experience reading technical drawings or schematics.
  • IPC 620 working knowledge or certification.
  • Experience with testers (Cirris, Cable eye).
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Advanced soldering skills.

Base pay is a single component of Astranis’s total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, high‑quality company‑subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(k) retirement, and free on‑site catered meals.

Base Hourly Pay

$30 – $43 USD
