Associate Director, Global Commercial L&D

Role Summary

Associate Director, Global Commercial Learning & Development (GCL+D) is a senior individual contributor role with high visibility and impact across Gilead affiliates worldwide, driving conceptual development and leading cross-functional projects. Located in Foster City, CA (hybrid).

• Act as strategic business partner to commercial functions, translating global business needs into impactful learning solutions as conceptual Therapeutic Area lead within the GCL+D team.
• Work cross-functionally with the GCLD Operations team and instructional designers to design and implement disease and product training programs for sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams in Gilead affiliates.
• Drive the integration of digital, AI and Learning Metrics tools into our commercial capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with global CL&D teams to align and localize global initiatives.
• Coordinate training materials with tactical campaigns, launch readiness, and continuous development programs.
• Manage external training partners, vendors, and contractors to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Represent GCL+D in cross-functional and global projects and contribute to commercial excellence.

• Required:
  
  Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience; OR Master’s Degree and Eight Years’ Experience; OR PhD and Two Years’ Experience

• Preferred:
  Experience working in a global marketplace with affiliates and stakeholders across multiple countries and regions; extensive pharma/biotech experience in commercial training or education; strong knowledge of the global healthcare landscape; ability to manage complex workloads and multiple projects; effective delegation and leadership of teams and external partners; ability to manage multiple time zones and adapt to diverse cultural contexts; strong conceptual and strategic thinking with hands-on execution;
