Our client seeks a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to architect and lead a modern, data driven growth engine. The CMO will advance brand strategy, member acquisition and engagement, digital transformation, and community presence—integrating marketing, digital, and business development into a cohesive, outcome-oriented function.
The CMO will be a visible, influential member of the Executive Team and governance forums.
- Own the enterprise marketing strategy and operating plan aligned to corporate goals, with explicit segment strategies and financial guardrails.
- Lead annual planning, budgeting, and performance management for a marketing budget of approximately $1.3–$1.4M (~1.25% of assets).
- Oversee integrated campaigns, content strategy, and storytelling across paid, owned, and earned media; ensure consistency across segments and channels.
- Partner with Operations/Branches to connect marketing with end-to-end member experience.
- Build a high performing acquisition engine across search, social, display, affiliate/partner channels; drive funnel performance (awareness → conversion → activation).
- Lead adoption of the marketing automation platform; implement journey orchestration, lifecycle programs, and personalization.
- Establish analytics, experimentation, and attribution frameworks; socialize insights with executive peers and the Board.
- Align BD with marketing to prioritize agencies, associations, academies, benefits fairs, and other partners; define Tier 1–3 partner strategies and shared KPIs.
- Create scalable partner playbooks (offers, content, events), and measure conversions and pipeline health.
- Model a collaborative, zero silo culture; attract, develop, and retain high performing talent.
- Collaborate with the centralized Data/BI group to translate insights into segmentation, offers, and product opportunities.
- Lead a team of direct and indirect reports across digital, channel marketing, and BD; digital depth is developing and will benefit from hands on mentoring and standards.
- Demonstrated success in digital acquisition
, funnel optimization, and marketing automation
. - Proven financial fluency and history of tight CFO partnership, including building P&L oriented models and investment cases.
- Track record scaling customers/members from modest baselines; adept at setting strategy and driving execution.
- B2C and B2B/partnership growth leadership; experience integrating BD/sales with marketing.
- Strong people leadership; ability to coach up mid-level managers and elevate performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required;
MBA preferred. - 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership including 5+ years at the senior level (Director/VP/CMO).
- Experience leading marketing in financial services or a closely related, regulated, consumer-facing environment.
