Compensation: $250,000-$275,000 base

About the Role

Our client - a rapidly scaling, high growth strategic communications firm is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP) / Executive Vice President (EVP) to join its San Francisco office. This leader will drive strategic counsel, client excellence, and business growth across a portfolio spanning financial services, fintech, technology, and complex corporate matters, including special situations, crisis communications, restructuring, and mergers & acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Client Leadership
  • Serve as senior counselor to C‑suite executives, Boards, legal advisors, and investor relations stakeholders.
  • Lead development and execution of multi‑stakeholder communications strategies across financial, corporate, and technology sectors.
  • Manage and advise during special situations (e.g., crisis events, restructurings, activist scenarios, regulatory matters, major transactions).
  • Oversee complex M&A communications, including deal positioning, internal comms, media strategy, regulatory messaging, and integration narratives.
Practice & Team Leadership
  • Inspire a culture of excellence, accountability, and client-first thinking.
  • Coach, and develop emerging leaders as the practice scales.
  • Play a critical role in shaping West Coast growth strategy and service offerings.
Business Development & Growth
  • Drive revenue growth through new business leadership, cross selling, and accelerating existing client portfolios.
  • Build and nurture senior relationships within financial services, fintech, and technology sectors.
  • Represent the firm in the market, building its visibility across San Francisco and nationally.
Media & Market Expertise
  • Deliver expert guidance on financial and technology media landscapes, regulatory scrutiny, investor sentiment, and evolving issues.
  • Serve as a senior spokesperson adviser for financial, fintech, crypto, and technology organizations navigating high stakes environments.
  • Bring an informed POV on the evolving digital assets sector (crypto, blockchain, DeFi, custody, regulation, risk).
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in strategic communications, corporate affairs, financial PR, investor communications, or related advisory roles.
  • Strong background in financial services, fintech, or technology; crypto/digital assets expertise highly preferred.
  • Significant experience managing special situations - crisis, M&A, litigation, regulatory investigations, restructuring, or activist matters.
  • Trusted advisor to senior executives with a history of successfully guiding high-pressure communications environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow business, build teams, and retain high-value accounts.
  • Comfortable in a high performance, fast growth, entrepreneurial environment.
Work Model
  • Hybrid: 3 days onsite in the San Francisco office
  • Some travel as needed for client engagements and firm wide leadership activities.
