Supply Chain CapabilityOliver Wyman develops innovative solutions to improve client supply chain performance and networks. We support end-to-end supply chains from input material sourcing to production, distribution, and services, partnering with businesses across industries and geographies to ensure value and competitive advantage. We start with strategic questions, but our relationships extend beyond PowerPoint decks; we help clients build capabilities and upskill their workforce to collaborate independently and adapt to disruption.
To maximize value, we offer a broad supply chain toolkit including AI-driven tools (e.g., machine learning forecasting) combined with deep project expertise and proven methods.
Our consulting roles offer excellent career and growth opportunities. As a professional member of our firm, initial responsibilities include:
- Managing the execution of individual project work streams, including developing hypotheses, data collection, model creation and analyses, guiding primary and secondary research, addressing information gaps, and surfacing insights
- Synthesizing findings from interviews, client sessions, and research into written presentations; reviewing and discussing with clients and stakeholders
- Supporting our Partner group in project delivery with accurate and high-quality execution
- Managing a team of 2-4 consultants on a daily basis to ensure effective delivery
- For Principal: managing multiple work streams with a team of 6-8 consultants; directly managing mid-senior level clients (e.g., VP of operations or above)
- For Principal: developing proposals and leading/participating in business development and pitching
- Operations experience in discreet or continuous manufacturing industries
- Experience across operations – product development, planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, distribution – depth in any area
- Experience in leading or participating in improvement efforts in operations
- Strong curiosity and continuous learning mentality
- Strong problem structuring and analytical skills
- Critical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently under ambiguity and lead others through ambiguity and uncertainty
- Refined written communication and oral presentation skills
- Experience with tools/systems for supply chain optimization and IT enablement preferred
- Certifications:
CSCMP, APICS/ISCM, or ISM preferred - Experience with proposal development, strong commercial instincts, and interest
- Experience with a top-tier management consulting firm preferred
- 4-7+ years of consulting experience in operations (industry and/or consulting firms)
- 6-8+ years for Principal
