Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Assistant will assist with daily facilities operations. The Assistant will perform routine and preventative maintenance, grounds keeping and administrative duties.
Responsibilities- Assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of facility operations.
- Drive the company car to pick up and deliver packages and equipment to and from various locations.
- Complete routine administration.
- Analyze and identify faults or problems in equipment and machinery and keep them in working order.
- Perform minor maintenance of pool vehicles such as filling up gasoline, oil and fluids.
- Assist in maintenance of other vehicles as directed.
- Check and ensure that facilities are clean.
- Assist with the set up of meeting rooms, furniture, chairs, etc.
- Assist with the clean up of trash and debris from building exterior and lot.
- Maintain grass and plants.
- Replace light bulbs.
- Move and transfer supplies, boxes, office equipment, furniture.
- Support with the Upkeep system, including receiving work requests, entering system data, and providing overall system administration.
- In conjunction with Facilities Manager and Facilities Coordinator, arrange for regular maintenance of equipment and internal systems (e.g. heating system, alarms).
- Comply with MNC’s Procurement Policies as outlined in the Fiscal Policy & Procedures Manual and with CFR Part 75 regulations.
- Work collaboratively with Head Start/Early Head Start staff to ensure that the performance standards are met or exceed in the areas of facilities, inventory of equipment/supplies and transportation.
- Ensure the use of “green” products and energy saving measures throughout MNC facilities.
- Respond to urgent maintenance calls.
- Maintains emergency plan and follow-ups with safety concerns and issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Always represent the Company in a professional manner.
- Maintain personal safety, use personal protection equipment (PPE) and follow Company policies.
- Report all safety issues, accidents or injuries to your manager as a matter of priority.
- Promotes the health and safety of participants and follows safety and emergency procedures.
- Ability to interact positively with team members.
- Ability to facilitate positive change.
- Partner with supervisor when necessary to address department issues or concerns.
Education
:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
: 2+ years in facilities work, maintenance or janitorial.
- Current CA Driver’s License, current auto insurance and a clean driving record.
- Fingerprinting Clearance (DOJ/FBI)
- Clearance Child Abuse Index
- Strong knowledge of facilities management operations.
- Familiarity with office equipment and security systems.
- Hands-on experience with facilities management software is a plus.
- Understanding of safety regulations in offices and childcare facilities.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook) preferred. Experience with Upkeep software is a plus.
- Set priorities and standards of performance and develop plans by which work can be accomplished.
- Small power tools, hand tools and utilize personal protective equipment.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with client information.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to sit approximately 10% of the time, walk 45% of the time and stand 45% of the time. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to type or handle, feel, and operate objects. The employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Ability to push and pull carts.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, squat, twist, crouch and crawl. The employee is frequently required to speak and listen. Work in all types of weather; heat, cold, rain and wind. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Pay Rate: $28.00 - $32.00 Hourly
