The selected Director of Purchasing (vertical) will be a key addition to the Nor Cal team supporting project sites from Sonoma County to San Luis Obispo with active townhome construction activities. This position will collaborate closely with a counterpart handling horizontal purchasing. Prior experience supporting a Developer/Builder on homebuilding projects in a purchasing role is required for serious consideration. This position reports out of the waterfront San Francisco office location M-F.

- Support bid preparation by providing material pricing and supplier quotes
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for materials, equipment, and services
- Track deliveries, resolve supply issues, and manage logistics coordination
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and procurement schedules
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and continuously assess supplier performance
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of construction materials
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate regular reports
- Review invoices, approve payments, and support cost‑control initiatives
- Assist in the development of strategic initiatives for the division
- 7+ years of experience in construction purchasing/procurement
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Business Admin, Supply Chain, Math or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Strong negotiation and contract‑management skills
- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards
- Ability to read blueprints, project plans, and technical specs
- Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines to ensure that project milestones are achieved
- Base Salary $135-165k (based on experience and certifications)
