Overview
A leading national law firm is seeking an ECVC Associate Attorney to join its high-growth Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice in San Francisco. This role focuses on representing startups and venture investors in sophisticated financing and M&A transactions. Associates work directly with founders, CEOs, and boards while leading deals across the technology and life sciences ecosystem.
LocationHybrid schedule: typically 2–3 days in office
Compensation: $310,000 – $435,000 annually
Required Qualifications- 4–8 years corporate law experience focused on ECVC and/or M&A
- Current experience at an Am Law 50 firm (required)
- Excellent academic credentials
- Superior communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to independently manage complex deals
- Lead venture financings and corporate transactions
- Advise startups from formation through exit
- Work on SAFEs, preferred financings, and governance matters
- Counsel venture capital and institutional investors
- Interact directly with founders and executive teams
- Build relationships in the technology and life sciences ecosystem
