We are seeking an experienced, highly proactive, and litigation-focused Family Law Attorney to join our growing practice. The role involves managing a variety of family law cases including dissolution, custody disputes, support matters, adoption, and asset division. The ideal candidate will have a strong family law background, regular courtroom and litigation experience, and be comfortable independently leading cases from start to finish.
This includes drafting motions, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court, while managing complex matters with professionalism and care. Success in this position requires strong legal acumen, a sense of urgency, and someone who is driven and hardworking, with a collaborative, client-focused mindset.
Our office is based in Foster City, CA, and candidates should reside in the Bay Area and be within commuting distance for court appearances, depositions, and in-person needs.
Other than in person appearances required by court appearances, depositions and other client needs, employees may work in a remote capacity.
- Counsel:
Provide expert legal advice and representation in family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and property division, and advise clients on legal rights, options, and potential outcomes. - Manage:
Manage cases, anticipating next steps, and driving matters forward efficiently - Research:
Conduct legal research in order to prepare motions, pleadings, declarations, and correspondence relevant to family law cases. - Drafting:
Draft and review legal documents such as marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and other court filings, submitting work product well in advance for review as appropriate. - Advocacy:
Represent clients in family court proceedings, including hearings, settlement conferences, and trials, while negotiating favorable outcomes. - Organization:
Maintain a high level of organization, including proactively tracking deadlines and deliverables - Clients:
Build and maintain strong client relationships through compassionate, responsive, and strategic legal support during emotionally complex situations - Collaboration:
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service across all matters.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active California State Bar license.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of family law experience, with regular courtroom and litigation exposure. Proven track record of managing complex cases and delivering favorable outcomes for clients.
- Location: Resides in the Bay Area and is available for in-person court appearances, depositions, and firm needs as required (desired)

- Initiative: Demonstrated initiative and a strong sense of urgency in managing day-to-day responsibilities.
- Accountability: High degree of personal accountability and ownership over assigned matters.
- Organization: Highly organized, with the ability to independently track deadlines, court calendars, and upcoming deliverables and anticipate future case needs.
- Proactivity: Demonstrated ability to proactively produce high-quality work product, including draft pleadings and correspondence.
- Independence: Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Professionalism: High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
