This role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring two days in-office per week (Tues & Weds) in our San Francisco office.

About the Role

The Taskrabbit Legal team is focused on minimizing risk while getting to yes, prioritizing growth and finding ways to partner efficiently as we globally scale the company. We are creative problem solvers who prioritize a sense of humor and the ability to get our work done. We are principally looking for someone to help support our commercial, product counselling, and data privacy efforts, but as this is a small team, you will have ample opportunity (and be expected to) pitch in and work on matters outside of your core responsibilities.

You must have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization including Product, Marketing and Business Development. This is a great opportunity to join a Legal team working on cutting‑edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Work On

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including licensing, vendor, partnership, marketing, and procurement contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.

• Advise product, engineering, and cross‑functional teams on product development, feature launches, and go‑to‑market initiatives, providing guidance on regulatory, contractual, and risk considerations.

• Support privacy and data protection compliance efforts, including interpreting U.S. and global privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, GDPR).

• Provide practical, business‑oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders on a wide range of topics, including intellectual property, marketing, employment, and general corporate matters.

• Identify, assess, and manage legal risks arising from business operations, recommending mitigation strategies and scalable processes.

• Assist with compliance programs, including policy development, training, and implementation of internal controls related to privacy, information security, and commercial practices.

• Respond quickly and effectively to a diverse array of legal questions, demonstrating strong generalist skills and the ability to “tackle anything that comes across your desk.”

• Contribute to the development and improvement of legal workflows, templates, playbooks, and scalable processes to support a fast‑growing technology organisation.

• Stay current on relevant laws and industry trends, particularly in technology, privacy, AI, commercial contracting, and consumer protection, and communicate implications to stakeholders.

Your Areas Of Expertise

• 4‑6 years of relevant work experience at law firms and/or in-house.

• A member in good standing with the California State Bar (or qualified for or willing to apply for and maintain Registered In‑House Counsel status with the California State Bar).

• A strong track record of drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements, with the ability to identify and analyze core legal issues.
