An interpreter’s responsibility is to convey thoughts and intentions accurately into a target language, maintaining cultural competence and message integrity. Key traits include:

• Quickly grasp spoken phrases and express messages concisely while preserving intent.
• Provide on-site and remote interpreting (phone and video).
• Communicate professionally during interpreting sessions.
• Maintain confidentiality as required by HIPAA.

• Native fluency in English and Spanish.
• Excellent listening, speaking, and retention skills.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Promptly submit administrative and timekeeping tasks.
• Ability to travel within designated regions.
• Valid CA driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Availability during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with flexibility.
• Successful completion of screening assessments, background, and drug tests; verification of work authorization.
• Willingness to obtain medical clearances (TB, MMR, Varicella immunity) and stay up to date on vaccinations.
