Underwriting Specialist - Management Liability

Zurich North America is hiring an Underwriting Specialist – Management Liability to work primarily in San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid remote option. In this role you will analyze and underwrite new and renewal business for financial lines products for private, nonprofit companies.

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) to support business retention and acquisition.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities and identify growth opportunities.
• Qualify accounts and conduct opportunity assessments with key distributors.
• Support a sales culture by acting as a help point for agents, brokers, and customers.
• Mentor team members.

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting or market‑facing area, OR 6+ years in claims or underwriting support, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with appropriate work experience.
• Knowledge of line‑of‑business and legal/regulatory guidelines.
• Experience with time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years in underwriting or market‑facing area, OR 10+ years in claims or underwriting support, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with required experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong relationship‑building skills.

Base salary range: $96,600.00 – $. Short‑term incentive bonus eligibility: 10–15% of base. Eligibility for bonuses and merit increases.
