About the role
As a Business Systems Analyst on the Biz Tech team, you'll play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions - with a particular focus on how we evaluate, onboard, and manage the vendors that power our business technology ecosystem. You'll translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and sourcing decisions, ensuring the solutions we bring in scale with our rapid growth and meet our bar for security and reliability.
In this role, you'll act as the connective tissue between Biz Tech, Procurement, and Security. You'll partner with Procurement on vendor evaluation, contracting, and renewals, and with Security on third-party risk assessment and ongoing vendor compliance - making sure the right questions get asked early and the right controls are in place before a system ever goes live. You'll also work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their requirements, configure systems, and ensure our business technology ecosystem operates efficiently and securely.
As we continue to scale rapidly, you'll help ensure our vendor relationships, systems, and processes evolve to meet the growing demands of the organization while maintaining the high standards of efficiency, security, and reliability that Anthropic requires.
Responsibilities
Own the technical vendor lifecycle for business applications - from intake and evaluation through contract negotiation, onboarding, performance management, and renewal or offboarding
Partner closely with Procurement on RFPs, vendor selection criteria, commercial negotiations, SLAs, and contract terms for business systems
Partner closely with Security on third-party risk assessments, security questionnaires, data handling reviews, and ongoing vendor compliance monitoring
Serve as Biz Tech's primary point of contact for Procurement and Security on vendor-related work streams, ensuring alignment on timelines, requirements, and escalations
Drive end-to-end delivery of technical projects from conception through launch, coordinating vendor, Procurement, and Security inputs along the way
Configure and customize business systems to meet specific organizational needs, including user permissions, workflows, and integrations
Create and maintain comprehensive system and vendor documentation, including process flows, configuration specifications, technical documentation, vendor inventories, and ownership records
Lead knowledge management initiatives to ensure institutional knowledge about our systems and vendors is captured, organized, and accessible
Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and vendor consolidation
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users, translating complex technical and contractual concepts into user-friendly language
Conduct system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing for new implementations and updates
Provide ongoing support and training to end-users across the organization
Monitor system performance, vendor SLAs, and usage metrics to identify areas for improvement and inform renewal decisions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business systems integrate seamlessly with other platforms
You may be a good fit if you
Have 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Vendor Manager, or similar role in a technology-focused environment
Have hands-on experience managing technical vendor relationships end to end - evaluation, contracting, onboarding, performance management, and renewal
Have partnered directly with Procurement and/or Security teams on vendor selection, contracting, or third-party risk review
Are comfortable reading and negotiating commercial and technical contract terms (MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, SLAs) alongside Procurement and Legal
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex business processes
Have experience with systems configuration and customization across various business applications
Are skilled at requirements gathering and translating business needs into technical specifications and sourcing criteria
Excel at documentation creation and maintenance, with exceptional attention to detail
Are an effective communicator who can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders - including Procurement, Security, Legal, and business owners
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements
Have experience with API integrations and iPaaS solutions
Have a passion for process improvement and automation
Are proactive and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple projects and vendor relationships simultaneously
Care about the societal impacts of your work and are excited about contributing to AI safety
