About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior AWS Project Manager to lead and coordinate large-scale cloud initiatives, infrastructure modernization programs, and data platform projects.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of project/program leadership experience
, strong understanding of AWS services, cloud delivery models, Dev Ops processes
, and exposure to Databricks or modern data engineering platforms
.

You will work across engineering, product, architecture, and business teams to ensure cloud projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with enterprise governance and security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of AWS cloud initiatives, including migrations, new service implementations, modernization efforts, and platform enhancements.
  • Work closely with AWS architects and engineers to align project timelines, scope, and milestones.
  • Coordinate infrastructure provisioning, cloud networking tasks, IAM roles, security reviews, and compliance approvals with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive adoption of AWS best practices, tagging standards, cost governance, and architectural guardrails.
Project Management & Execution
  • Define project roadmap, scoping, resourcing, budgeting, scheduling, and success criteria.
  • Maintain detailed project plans, RAID logs, and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Lead daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-team sync meetings.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests proactively.
  • Communicate status updates, executive summaries, and stakeholder reporting.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Security, Networking, Dev Ops, and Data teams on timelines and delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate vendor teams, SIs, and third-party partners as needed.
  • Align with leadership on priorities, planning cycles, and roadmap adjustments.
Databricks & Data Platform Coordination (Exposure Needed)
  • Support teams working on Databricks Lakehouse
    , ETL modernization, and data platform pipelines.
  • Coordinate tasks around workspace administration, Unity Catalog onboarding, cluster policies, and data governance activities.
  • Assist in tracking progress for Medallion architecture delivery (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers).
Governance, Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure all cloud changes follow enterprise governance, CAB processes, and security approvals.
  • Oversee documentation, architectural signoffs, operational readiness, and handoff procedures.
  • Track AWS cost optimization initiatives, resource utilization, and financial forecasting.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5+ years managing AWS or cloud projects

  • Proven experience delivering projects involving AWS services such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, Cloud Formation/Terraform (coordination, not hands‑on).
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, Dev Ops workflows, CI/CD processes, and cloud security frameworks.
  • Exposure to Databricks
    , modern data engineering pipelines, or enterprise data platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills in managing senior stakeholders, executives, and technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills for handling budgets, timelines, multi‑team dependencies, and vendor coordination.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
Preferred Skills
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe certification.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or above) preferred.
  • Experience on cloud or data projects in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, aerospace, public sector).
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, Service Now, or similar tools.
