OverviewThe Common Data Platform (CDP) is an enterprise initiative to centralize and manage data across the Federal Reserve. Due to its scale and complexity, strong security oversight is essential.
The Information Security Architect works closely with solution architects to review system designs, assess data flows, perform threat modeling, and identify security risks. This role ensures security controls are built into the platform and aligned with Federal Reserve standards.
The role requires the ability to understand complex architectures, communicate risks clearly, and proactively collaborate in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills- Threat Modeling Experience
- Strong experience of cloud environments, especially AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Communication and Collaboration Skills
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, especially NIST 800-53, which the Federal Reserve uses.
- (Other framework experience is acceptable if the person can learn NIST quickly.)
- Experience working with large data sets, data lakes, or data mesh environments.
- Understanding of how to secure data ingestion processes (how data enters the system).
- Knowledge of data governance and data protection best practices.
- Prior experience in cloud security architecture design and review.
- Strong understanding of information security principles.
- Experience with tools like Databricks, Informatica, or Snowflake is a plus, but not required.
- Scripting or automation skills are not needed, as this is not an engineering role.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
- A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position is $90/hr. on W2
