Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Role

The US healthcare system is defined by its friction—complex documentation and billing requirements, rigid EHRs, and workflows that pull focus away from the patient.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to turn that friction into flow.

You’ll own the design of Heidi’s US experience, ensuring our product feels native to the

American clinician. You’ll tackle the deep complexity of medical coding, transforming a tedious administrative burden into a seamless, automated interaction. You’ll shape how Heidi lives inside systems like Epic and Athena, crafting an experience that feels less like a plugin and more like a superpower.

You’ll work across two critical work streams: partnering with a new West Coast product team building our medical coding capability from scratch—requiring deep product discovery, research, and PMF validation—and collaborating with our regional product team focused on EMR integrations for North America, where execution velocity and shipping matter most.

This isn’t just about localization—it’s about designing the definitive clinical experience for the world’s most demanding market.

What You ll Do
  • Own the end-to-end design of Heidi’s US product surface
. You’ll translate our core AI capabilities into workflows that feel native to American clinicians, ensuring fit across documentation, coding, and care delivery.
  • Lead the 0→1 design of our medical coding engine
. You’ll transform a complex, manual administrative burden into an automated, trust-based workflow that clinicians and billing teams rely on.
  • Architect the user experience for deep EMR integrations
. You’ll shape how Heidi lives inside Epic, Athena, and eClinical

Works, ensuring our "invisible infrastructure" feels like a superpower, not a plugin.
  • Drive deep discovery with US clinicians
. You’ll translate the nuance of payer rules, denial workflows, and compliance constraints into intuitive product logic that protects the user from complexity.
  • Partner with Engineering to turn constraints into craft
. You’ll navigate the technical limitations of HL7/FHIR and legacy software to deliver an experience that feels modern, seamless, and uncompromised.
  • Partner with GTM and Customer Success teams
. You’ll translate sales feedback, implementation challenges, and customer requests into product improvements—ensuring design decisions support enterprise sales motions.
  • Champion enterprise design thinking across Heidi
. You’ll help internal teams—including PMMs, PDs, EMs, and PMs—understand why enterprise customers differ from PLG users, and advocate for upmarket-specific needs in product decisions.

Use and contribute to our design system
. You’ll leverage existing patterns while establishing new components and standards that allow us to scale across complex US workflows without accruing design debt.

Who You Are:
  • 5+ years of product design experience
, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual craft and systems thinking.
  • Proven experience designing complex, workflow-heavy products
—translating dense technical or regulatory constraints into seamless user experiences.
  • Strong 0→1 capability: you can navigate ambiguity, conduct your own research, and drive clarity through design without a perfect brief.
  • Deep empathy for expert users: you know how to design for speed, accuracy, and high-cognitive-load environments.
  • A bias for shipping: you thrive in a fast-paced triad with PM and Engineering, sweating the details without slowing down.
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience working with design systems.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Bonus: Experience in US healthcare, EMR ecosystems (Epic, Athena), or revenue cycle management—ideally within an AI or startup environment. We also value experience in other complex, regulated industries (fintech, legal tech, govtech) where you’ve designed for high-stakes workflows.

If we’d worked together the last 6 weeks, you’d have:

  • Designed and prototyped the medical coding engine — validating the end-to-end workflow with US clinicians and billing teams.
  • Defined the UX for Heidi inside Epic and Athena — solving how our interface feels native to the EMR, not bolted on.
  • Led discovery…
