We’re now building Matcha Mobile
, a greenfield React Native app that will make decentralized trading as effortless on mobile as it is on web.

This is a foundational engineering role: you’ll own architecture, performance, and product experience end‑to‑end.

You’ll collaborate directly with design, backend, and product to shape how crypto trading feels in your hand.

• Build and ship Matcha’s new React Native app for iOS and Android from the ground up.
• Design robust architecture, state management, and in‑app infrastructure (CI/CD, telemetry, feature flags).
• Implement high‑performance mobile UX – snappy lists, smooth gestures, fast load times, and secure wallet flows.
• Collaborate closely with design and product to prototype, iterate, and ship features quickly and safely.
• Write clean, modern Type Script and React Native code with proper typing, linting, and testing coverage (Jest, Detox/Maestro).
• Help define the mobile engineering culture – code reviews, pairing, testing discipline, and continuous performance tuning.
• Contribute to open discussions on design trade‑offs and product priorities with a user‑first mindset.

• 5+ years of mobile engineering experience with deep fluency in React Native and Type Script.
• Proven track record of shipping complex mobile apps – ideally from blank repo to App Store/Play Store.
• Hands‑on experience with modern RN patterns: custom hooks, Zustand/Recoil, Reanimated, Flat List, memoization, and performance profiling.
• Experience working on crypto wallets or DeFi mobile products (e.g., Matcha, Meta Mask, Safe, Uniswap, Phantom, Rainbow, Rabby, Backpack, etc.).
• Understanding of key management, signing flows, transaction UX, and Web3 connectivity (Wallet Connect, EIP‑155).
• Understanding of native modules and when to use them for crypto or performance‑critical tasks (Objective‑C, Swift, Java, Kotlin and a plus).
• Strong debugging habits and comfort profiling on real devices across Android and iOS.
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines, incremental rollouts, and feature flagging.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills – you think out loud, stay calm under pressure, and embrace feedback.
• A low‑ego, ownership‑driven approach to building great products with others.
• Ability and willingness to attend two in‑person team meet‑ups per year anywhere in the world.

• Knowledge of mobile security and key management best practices.
• Prior native app development (iOS/Android).
• Familiarity with analytics pipelines and A/B testing on mobile.
• Contributions to open source React Native or Web3 libraries.
