This Q&A is an opportunity to learn more about working in the Mayor’s Office at a moment when communications and social media are central to how San Francisco tells its story. Mayor Lurie has made digital engagement a priority, using social platforms to connect directly with San Franciscans and highlight the city’s momentum – check out this Wall Street Journal piece on how the Mayor is investing in modern communications and storytelling across his administration.
This role offers a hands-on opportunity to help shape the Mayor’s social presence by creating content, supporting press operations, and contributing to real-time storytelling around the Mayor’s priorities and daily work. It’s also an especially exciting year in San Francisco.
The city is hosting the Super Bowl, World Cup matches, and the MLB Opening Night, putting San Francisco on a global stage and creating once-in-a-generation moments for communications, media, and public engagement.
