Sr SAP FICO Consultant

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior SAP FICO Consultant to join their ERP and Finance team. This is a critical new headcount role (not a backfill) supporting the client’s dual ERP environments (ECC and S/4

HANA) and their roadmap to full S/4

HANA migration. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth financial operations, supporting both ECC and S/4

HANA environments, and leading system/process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional expertise across FICO modules with a focus on Product Costing.

• Support and enhance both ECC and S/4

HANA environments as the company progresses toward full S/4

HANA migration.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate finance process needs into SAP solutions.

• Manage integrations with third-party applications (e.g., Vertex tax, Esker AP invoice processing, payment processing systems).

• Provide ongoing production support and lead enhancement projects.

• Partner with IT and business leadership on ERP strategy, cloud hosting decisions, and potential system integrator engagement.

• Lead/participate in project management activities, including requirements gathering, testing, UAT, and go-live support.

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP FICO experience.

• Proven expertise in Product Costing (standard costing, actual costing, COPA).

• Strong knowledge of AR, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Cost Centers, Profit Centers.

• Hands-on experience with both ECC and S/4

HANA.

• Solid understanding of finance processes and ability to engage directly with senior leadership.

• Strong project management skills and effective communication abilities.

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with third-party system integrations (Vertex, Esker, credit card/payment processing).

• Familiarity with cloud-hosted SAP environments (AWS, private vs. public cloud).

• Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days onsite in the Bay Area (Tue/Wed standard, flexibility required around deliverables).

Relocation

The client is open to considering candidates willing to relocate to the Bay Area; however, relocation costs will not be covered.
