Mandate

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sustainability Disclosure & Data Governance, this enterprise-wide role supports BMO’s sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement, management reporting and annual sustainability and climate disclosures. The Manager maintains and executes effective internal controls for voluntary and regulatory sustainability and climate reporting.

Key Accountabilities Disclosure
  • Manage project plans and reporting activities for timely delivery of sustainability and climate disclosures.
  • Align reports with voluntary frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and validate sustainability data, advise on development of balanced, credible and streamlined disclosures, and oversee review/sign-off.
  • Select and manage third‑party resources (consultants, writers, designers, translators).
  • Support assurance processes, address findings, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor evolving standards and regulations (OSFI, ISSB/CSSB, CSRD, national, jurisdictional), assess impacts, and recommend enhancements and compliance approach.
  • Lead responses to external ratings/rankings and advise on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate design, translation and website posting of public facing materials.
  • Maintain and update website content, as needed.
Data Governance
  • Implement and maintain robust data governance and internal controls for accurate, auditable reporting.
  • Develop and act as subject‑matter expert on policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead adoption and optimization of sustainability reporting software (Workiva) and provide training, communication, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare presentations and messaging for senior management as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Degree in sustainability, business, finance, accounting or related field;
    Master’s preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in financial services, audit/assurance, or sustainability.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting processes and internal control frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage cross‑functional collaboration and navigate complex environments.
  • Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving and change management capabilities.

$88,800.00 - $

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
