About the Role

The IT Project Manager occupies a key position in the supervision and success of technological projects within SARIA. He is responsible for steering all IT initiatives by ensuring that they run smoothly, from the definition of objectives to the final delivery.

His main responsibility is to ensure that each project is completed on time, on budget and with the quality standards required by the organization. To achieve this, he works closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, functional experts and various business stakeholders. In addition, he works closely with the PMO assigned to his perimeter for the management and monitoring of projects.

The IT Project Manager defines the project objectives, develops detailed action plans, allocates the necessary resources and ensures regular monitoring of the progress of the work. His technical expertise, combined with his leadership skills and ability to manage complex projects, is essential to lead teams towards the achievement of expected results.

The projects entrusted will be mainly oriented towards logistics, with the possibility of contributing to other initiatives, including in the field of infrastructure. Examples of projects include the implementation of a solution for route optimization and the research and implementation of a future transportation management system (TMS).

Context & reporting lines

SARIA's IT department is undergoing transformation and is organized into nine European departments by IT domain. Within the Business & IT Alignment [BIA] department, the position reports to the head of BIA based in Germany, while the role itself is based in France. The position will also report functionally to the Application & Data division manager in France. The scope of work is European, with a major focus in French projects.

Key Responsibilities

Management and implementation of IT projects

  • Ensure the planning, execution and deployment of national and international IT projects, respecting objectives, deadlines, budgets and quality criteria.
  • Define scope, deliverables, and milestones in collaboration with local divisions and entities.
  • Develop comprehensive plans including resources, schedule, risks and contingency plans.

Coordination and management of teams

  • Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assign tasks by optimizing members' skills and promoting collaboration.
  • Maintain a positive environment, encourage open communication and knowledge sharing.

Monitoring, reporting and communication

  • Hold regular meetings and provide clear progress reports to decision-makers.
  • Communicate effectively on project status, risks, issues, and scope changes.
  • Manage all the projects managed in the internal project management tool.
  • Ensure internal and external documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Financial Management and Compliance

  • Manage budget, expenses and ensure that allocated budgets are respected.
  • Ensure compliance with SARIA policies, industry and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate the profitability and ROI of projects.

Quality and continuous improvement

  • Ensure the quality of deliverables by applying best practices and performing tests and controls.
  • Identify and implement improvements in project management methods and tools.
  • Capitalize on "lessons learned" and pass on knowledge to the team.

Change management

  • Design and deliver training for users and stakeholders.
  • Lead the change management process and support users in order to promote the appropriation and adoption of the solutions deployed.
  • Define and validate operating models before they are transferred to the business.

Profile & Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
