ServiceNow Techno-Functional Developer; onsite

About the role

We are seeking a Service Now Developer with Business Analyst skill set to support Service Now platform development, configuration, and client‑facing requirement analysis at our client site in Foster City, California. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Service Now IRM, HR Service Delivery, scoped applications, and integrations, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

• Develop, configure, and customize Service Now applications and modules, including:
  • Integrated Risk Management (IRM / GRC)
  • HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
  • Custom Scoped Applications
• Design and implement Service Now integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Servers
• Create and maintain business rules, workflows/flows, client scripts, UI policies, and ACLs
• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements
• Translate business requirements into Service Now technical solutions and designs
• Participate in onsite client meetings, workshops, and solution design sessions
• Prepare functional specifications, technical documentation, user stories, and process flows
• Support testing, deployment, upgrades, and post‑production support
• Collaborate with senior developers, architects, QA, and project managers
• Ensure solutions comply with Service Now best practices, security, and governance standards

• 1–3 years of hands‑on Service Now development experience
• Experience with Service Now IRM (GRC) and HR Service Delivery (HRSD)
• Good experience in developing custom scoped applications
• Hands‑on experience with Service Now integrations (REST, SOAP, Integration Hub)
• Proficiency in JavaScript and Service Now scripting
• Strong business analysis skills, including requirement gathering and documentation
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work onsite at the client location in Foster City, CA
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Service Now CSA, CAD, or module‑specific certifications (IRM, HRSD)

• Experience with MID Server configuration
• Knowledge of ITIL, GRC, or HR processes
• Prior client‑facing or consulting experience
• Experience with Flow Designer, Performance Analytics, or Reporting
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

The annual salary for this position is between $65,000 - $94,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
