Interested in working on cutting‑edge blockchain technology and creating equitable access to the global financial system? Since 2014, the mission‑driven team at the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) has helped fuel the tremendous growth of the Stellar blockchain network, an open‑source platform that operates at high‑scale today. Developers and companies around the world build on it, and the SDF team is expanding to support the rapidly growing and changing Stellar ecosystem.
The launch of smart contracts on Stellar brings a wealth of opportunity for innovation, and when you join SDF as a Senior Developer Advocate, you will be a part of a team that’s leveraging that opportunity to increase developer participation in order to bootstrap the ecosystem of tools, protocols, dapps, and educational resources necessary for Stellar to succeed.
As a Senior Developer Advocate, you will dream up, design, and execute on ideas for events and hackathons, and create dev activations and dev resources to grab developer attention, to attract and motivate early adopters, and to show the world what’s possible when native smart contracts meet Stellar’s unparalleled access.
In this role, you will:- Develop and execute engaging strategies for in‑person activations that attract and inspire the next generation of developers to experiment and build with Stellar.
- Give keynotes, lead workshops, provide hands‑on mentorship sessions, and represent SDF at conferences, hackathons, and builder events around the world.
- Create tutorials, videos, code samples and docs, and interactive content, leveraging your ideas and enthusiasm for the potential of Stellar and AI, to help developers understand what’s possible with Stellar—and empower community members and global ambassadors to do the same.
- Review technical documentation, pull requests, and ecosystem contributions with a sharp editorial and engineering eye, and support community contributions to the developer docs by maintaining high standards and encouraging best practices.
- Actively seek out builders in other ecosystems, including those excited about the potential of blockchain and AI, and bring them into the Stellar developer community.
- Drive participation in developer‑facing programs such as the Stellar Ambassador Program, the Stellar Community Fund, and other ecosystem initiatives.
- 5+ years as a developer advocate in web3 with a strong background in engineering.
- Experience using AI as part of your development workflow—you understand how it enhances productivity and creativity, and you’re excited to help others unlock their builder potential with AI.
- Experience writing technical documentation, developer guides, or educational content, and the ability to identify top‑priority issues and resolve them quickly.
- Familiarity with smart contract platforms (Wasm‑or EVM‑based), and an ability to understand subtle platform differences—especially compared to Stellar.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and an eagerness to share knowledge with others in person and online, in both one‑on‑one and one‑to‑many interactions.
- A portfolio that highlights your best web3 Dev Rel work or an active social media presence that demonstrates your leadership and reputation in the industry.
- A playbook of web3 Dev Rel ideas that you can bring to the Stellar ecosystem and the ownership and motivation to execute on key strategies quickly.
- A passion for building, tinkering, and helping others bring their ideas to life—whether through code, AI tools, or creative experimentation.
- An explorer mindset: you may not know everything, but you’re endlessly curious and hungry to solve problems and to help others do the same.
- A love of travel, and the flexibility to attend global events and be out in the field often.
- You’ve written and deployed smart contracts, ideally across multiple chains, including Stellar.
- You've built full‑stack applications using JavaScript and React.
- You have experience with Rust or are excited to deepen your knowledge.
- You’ve worked in or contributed to open‑source blockchain…
