As an Engineering People Business Partner, your primary focus will be on managing and supporting engineering professionals, fostering a positive culture, facilitating the best onboarding experience for new employees, and designing an organizational structure that supports future growth. You will be responsible for providing strategic HR guidance and support to business leaders globally.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their objectives, understand the product and technology in intrinsic detail.
- Using the learning build an open relationship, serve as a trusted advisor/partner to the engineering managers to drive their teams alignment to the vision
- Drive conversations on behalf of engineering managers with the engineers on topics such as career development, bottom performers, escalation management, real time employee feedback, conflict resolution, and top tier management
- Drive pulse sessions, identify development opportunities and support engineering managers with real time feedback coupled with coaching/training programs on people/performance management aspects as appropriate. Training sessions can vary from targeted set of audience to the entire org based on need
- Develop strategies and processes to ensure cross functional alignment on goals and objectives, facilitate communication and collaboration between different teams working towards the larger vision
- Help resolve conflicts or challenges arising from the matrix structure and promote a positive working environment.
- Partner with engineering leaders to promote a culture where the teams or the org and continuous learning, feedback, and professional development .
- Design and implement a program which ensures new joiners smooth transition into Postman culture, create channels that facilitate visibility to current challenges and goals the team is solving and thereby bringing in their alignment with Postman vision
- Measure and evaluate the success of onboarding programs periodically for a first 3 month period and propose improvements based on feedback
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to assess current organizational structure, coach them on the best structure that's future proofed for scaling.
- Conduct workforce planning and provide recommendations on team structures, reporting lines, and talent distribution.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager, preferably within an engineering or technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with organizational design and talent management is highly desirable.
