Human Resources Director (HRD)

As we scale rapidly across global markets, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director (HRD) to lead and build a world-class HR organization, serving as a core member of the executive leadership team.

Role Overview

The Human Resources Director (HRD) will lead all HR functions across the organization, driving strategic people initiatives while ensuring operational excellence. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, shaping company culture, organizational design, leadership development, and talent strategy to support aggressive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with company business objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, and culture building.
  • Build and lead a high-performing HR team covering all HR functions.
  • Serve as a core member of the executive management team, contributing to overall corporate strategy and decision-making.
2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Design and lead end-to-end talent acquisition strategies for technical, product, commercial, and corporate functions.
  • Build scalable hiring frameworks to support rapid organizational growth.
  • Partner closely with leadership to anticipate workforce needs and ensure timely talent delivery.
3. Organizational Development & Culture Building
  • Drive organizational design, change management, and company-wide transformation initiatives.
  • Build and reinforce a strong company culture aligned with innovation, performance, collaboration, and integrity.
  • Lead leadership development, succession planning, and high-potential talent programs.
4. Performance Management & Compensation
  • Design and optimize performance management systems, OKRs, and talent review frameworks.
  • Lead compensation and benefits strategy, including equity design, incentive plans, and market benchmarking.
  • Ensure competitive, fair, and scalable reward structures aligned with business growth.
5. HR Operations & Compliance
  • Oversee all HR operations including payroll, benefits, HR systems, employee relations, policies, and compliance.
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. federal, state (especially California), and local labor laws.
  • Establish scalable HR processes, systems, and governance frameworks.
6. Employee Experience & Engagement
  • Build comprehensive employee engagement, communication, and wellbeing programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement of employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to managers and employees.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 12 years of progressive HR leadership experience
    , with at least 5 years in senior HR leadership roles
    .
  • Proven background in AI, technology, SaaS, internet, or high-tech industries
    .
  • Strong experience supporting high-growth, fast-scaling organizations
    , preferably VC-backed or startup-to-scale-up environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build HR systems from scratch and scale them globally.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. labor laws
    , especially California employment regulations.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and execution capability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing and developing multi-functional HR teams.
