The Role

We’re looking for a Director of People Operations to lead the operational backbone of our People team during a period of rapid growth. This role ensures scalable, efficient, and compliant HR processes while delivering a best‑in‑class employee experience. You will partner closely with the VP of People, operational leaders, and cross‑functional teams to design systems, processes, and policies that enable the company to scale quickly and effectively.

What

You’ll Do
  • People Operations & Lifecycle Management: Own end‑to‑end People Ops processes supporting hiring, onboarding, offboarding, transfers, and employee lifecycle initiatives.

  • Data & Analytics: Maintain high‑quality HR data across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and ATS systems to drive accurate reporting and informed workforce decisions.

  • Immigration & Global Workforce: Manage a scalable and compliant immigration process for employees requiring visas or work authorization, partnering with external counsel and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage benefits programs and open enrollment: Oversee annual benefits enrollment and ongoing employee support, ensuring accurate coverage, clear communication, and a seamless experience for all employees.

  • Policy Development & Governance: Design, maintain, and communicate company policies, including internal mobility, employee handbooks, and time‑off programs, ensuring consistency and compliance.

  • Systems & Process Optimization: Implement workflows, tools, and automation to improve operational efficiency, transparency, and scalability.

    Risk Management:

    Ensure HR processes and programs comply with relevant laws across the US and Canada.

  • Employee Experience & Engagement: Partner with People leaders to deliver smooth, positive experiences at all operational touchpoints, ensuring processes reflect company values and culture.

What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years in People Operations, HR, or related functions, ideally in high‑growth SaaS or technology startups.
  • Strong operational expertise, including HR systems, payroll, benefits, HRIS administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Experience managing immigration programs and developing scalable policies for growing organizations.
  • Proven ability to partner with executives and department leaders to align People Ops with business priorities.
  • Data‑driven mindset with high standards for accuracy and reporting.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and delivering results with thoughtful urgency.
  • Collaborative and trustworthy, embodying Even Up’s values including always building trust and 1% better every day.
