The current vacant position is in the area of workers' compensation, medical leaves, and ADA reasonable accommodations. This position will advise employees regarding workers' compensation claims and related leaves of absence, engage in the interactive process for leaves and accommodations, and coordinate with a third‑party workers' compensation administrator.

Senior Human Resources Analyst

  • This is the temporary recruitment for this classification. If you are interested in the career, permanent positions, you MUST also apply to the separate career recruitment.
Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, human resources management, industrial relations, or a closely related field; and four (4) years of professional human resources experience in more than one HR functional area or program, which includes at least one (1) year experience functioning in a lead capacity. Additional professional‑level relevant work experience may be substituted for the required college education on a year‑for‑year basis.

Requirements Include

Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.

Tests may consist of any combination of written, oral or other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, typing, math, reading, writing and analytical skills; problem solving ability; computer and software proficiency, or any other job‑related knowledge, skill, ability or qualification. The examination process and dates are subject to change. The City may, without notice, change or eliminate any assessment component as needs dictate.

Applicants passing all examination phases will have their names placed on an employment eligible list that hiring departments will use to conduct final selection interviews.
