Location:
The Huntington, exclusive Nob Hill neighborhood, San Francisco. Guests enjoy modern amenities, a three-level spa, beautiful rooms and suites, and meeting/event spaces.
The Bartender is responsible for the complete set up of the bar area and the mixing of drinks for all guests and servers. Maintain service and cleanliness of the bar area, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and control over liquor inventory.
Responsibilities- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and serve guests promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the hotel’s mixing and presentation standards.
- Serve guests with friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Break down bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment according to hotel standards.
- Follow all state liquor laws.
- Know hotel services and facilities.
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
- Follow procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests.
- Respond to guests’ problems, complaints, and accidents.
- Be familiar with all fire exit and extinguisher locations.
- Keep bar and service areas clean and tidy during service.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Flexible with long hours sometimes required.
- Medium work: up to 50 pounds force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, or constantly.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Effective communication verbally and written.
- Effective listening and clarifying concerns.
- Multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with friendly, courteous, service-oriented manner.
- Attend all required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain regular attendance and comply with scheduling.
- High standards of personal appearance and grooming, wear proper uniform and nametag.
- Compliance with hotel standards and regulations for safety.
- Productivity: identify problems and assist in solutions.
- Handle problems: anticipate, prevent, identify, and solve as necessary.
- Understand and apply complex information from various sources.
- Cross-train in other hotel related areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Show initiative and anticipate guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
