Overview

The placement opportunity includes multiple departments and positions across Orientation and Food & Beverage with a focus on skills acquisition and leadership growth:

  • Orientation:
    Onboarding for up to 0.5 month, including company culture, payroll processes, local community information, housing and transportation options, and introductions to key contacts and systems. Orientation runs concurrently with the first training phase.
  • Food and Beverage – Assistant Restaurant Manager (Operations Skills Acquisition): 2.5 months focused on operational functions, teamwork, performance feedback, policy compliance, guest satisfaction, and issue resolution. This phase may run concurrently with other skills acquisition phases.
  • Food and Beverage – Assistant Restaurant Manager (Management Skills Acquisition): 3 months focused on daily operations, supervision of setup, seating flow, opening/closing duties, scheduling, meetings, coaching, performance goals, and accountability. This phase may run concurrently with other phases.
  • Food and Beverage – Assistant Restaurant Manager (Financial Skills Acquisition): 3 months covering financial management concepts, cost control, forecasting, scheduling, payroll procedures, revenue reporting, and ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Food and Beverage – Assistant Restaurant Manager (Skills Implementation Skills Acquisition): 9 months implementing and building upon prior skills, including leadership, efficiency, planning, revenue generation, cost control, decision making, and customer service. This phase constitutes the majority of the program length and may run concurrently with other phases.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in department-specific onboarding and skills acquisition activities as described above.
  • Learn and apply operational, financial, and people-management practices in a hospitality context.
  • Assist with guest relations, complaint handling, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with multi-department teams to maintain service standards and drive performance improvements.
Requirements
  • You are enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA).
