Location:

Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA. This modern, ultra‑chic hotel has 686 guestrooms and is located in the South of Market district, within walking distance to premier Union Square shops, designer boutiques, trendy SOMA dining and lounge hotspots, the Powell Street Cable Car Terminal, and the Market Street Vintage Trolley line. It also offers proximity to the Ferry Building artisan shops, local favorites in Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, the Mission District, and North Beach.

Overview

The Relief Housekeeping Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring that all guest requests are executed in a timely and accurate manner accorded to Highgate Hotel International standards.

Responsibilities
  • Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
  • Answer the telephone according to Highgate Hotel standards, within three rings.
  • Assist with storeroom inventory.
  • Maintain stationary par (level) at all times.
  • Perform all administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, typing, etc.
  • Assist management with weekly time‑log for payroll.
  • Dispatch guest requests to the appropriate supervisor or employee.
  • Ensure that the office is open on time.
  • Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed.
  • Be able to perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Review weekly schedules for employees and forward any discrepancies to managers.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to understand and utilize basic computer equipment and applications.
Physical Requirements
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Sedentary work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
General Requirements
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.

  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Be able to cross‑train in other hotel related areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
