Driver; On-Call

Summary

The SFJAZZ on-call driver plays a crucial role in our, taking the wheel to transport artists and their teams to and from the SFJAZZ Center and other contracted venues. This role involves operating SFJAZZ and SFJAZZ‑leased vehicles to ensure our performers and their teams reach their destinations efficiently and professionally, contributing to the success of our events.

• Greeting visiting artists at Bay Area airports and transporting them to the hotel(s) and/or venue(s).
• Assisting artists and personnel with loading and unloading cargo, baggage, or instruments.
• Working collaboratively and professionally with SFJAZZ Production and SFJAZZ Artistic teams.
• Following traffic laws and safety regulations, driving defensively and routing around traffic congestion.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Two to three years in customer service or a related field.
• Experience operating large vehicles or vans.

• Be the face of SFJAZZ by creating a warm and friendly environment that welcomes the artists.
• Able to drive a 15‑passenger van.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Consent to Mover Vehicle Report (MVR) produced by the DMV.
• Valid license and satisfactory DMV record.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Able to interact in a professional manner with a wide variety of people and personalities.
• The work schedule requires regular availability on evenings and weekends, with varied needs for daytime availability to support performances.

On‑call and Part‑Time employees in Production are required to work at least one (1) shift every sixty (60) calendar days. Evening/weekends may be required.
