Seeking an EHS Specialist to support Environmental, Health & Safety programs at a South San Francisco campus, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable EHS regulations in a laboratory and office environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support EHS programs including chemical safety, biosafety, hazardous & medical waste, ergonomics, emergency response, and occupational health
- Conduct laboratory EHS inspections and document findings
- Oversee hazardous, medical, and universal waste handling and documentation
- Respond to incidents and support investigations and corrective actions
- Deliver EHS orientation and coordinate safety trainings (CPR, First Aid, AED)
- Assist with hazard assessments, fire drills, lab moves, and lab commissioning/decommissioning
- Maintain regulatory compliance records and EHS reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
- 0–5 years of EHS experience (biopharma or R&D lab environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of EHS regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, etc.)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient with Google Workspace and data entry systems
