Overview
Community Project Analyst – Pulmonary, Part Time (50% appointment).
Location:
Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG), San Francisco, CA. Weekly on-site work with shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and variable hours. This is a Limited appointment for 12 months after the start date.
The Community Project Analyst will report to and be responsible for performing project support, data collection and analysis, and creating synthesis documents for the general public and policy community for the Collaborative Learning for Equity and Respiratory health (CLEAR) Lab. The CLEAR Lab studies how place-based exposures (air pollution, green space, housing quality) influence respiratory health across a community and collaborates with multisector partners to design and implement health-improving strategies.
The incumbent will work with faculty, staff, and trainees in the ZSFG Pulmonary Division and with partners from the community, government, and other academic centers. Core responsibilities include supporting programmatic implementation, data synthesis and analysis, and translating findings for diverse stakeholders.
Activities include supporting logistics for study implementation and events, communications with multi-sector partners, and collecting primary data through qualitative interviews and analyses. The analyst must prioritize and manage multiple projects with attention to detail, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and operate autonomously while analyzing and responding to policy issues. They may provide guidance on personnel policies and procedures.
NOTE:
This position is limited 50% for 12 months after the start date.
The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy approvals. Placement within the salary range depends on experience and internal equity. Required Qualifications- Bachelor4; s degree in a related area and one or more years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific computer programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion
- Sound judgment in addressing issues and concerns
- Ability to multi-task with demanding time frames
- Experience working with communities facing environmental hazards and high health burdens
- Ability to work independently
- Professionalism in interactions with stakeholders from community partners to leadership
- Commitment to the vision and values of ZSFG Pulmonary, including diversity and inclusion
- Ability to analyze, research, and synthesize large data sets with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of policy analysis techniques
- Knowledge of public health topics
- Familiarity with UCSF operations (e.g., Bear Buy, Recharge, MyExpense, Connexus) or ability to learn quickly
- Knowledge of key software such as UCSF Drupal, Canva, Dedoose
