Job Summary
The position performs ultrasound procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. Processes images on appropriate archival systems. Participates in performance improvement activities in the department. Maintains appropriate quality control records and participates in routine equipment testing and maintenance. Requires active ARDMS status and previous ultrasound experience.
The position will work at 1725 Montgomery Street, Suite 250 but will be required to rotate and cover other UCSF locations such as SF Bayfront Outpatient Center, SF Mission Bay, SF Parnassus, 1 Daniel Burnham Ct., Suite 260, SF Mount Zion.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

- Perform ultrasound procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
- Process images on appropriate archival systems.
- Participate in performance improvement activities in the department.
- Maintain quality control records and participate in routine equipment testing and maintenance.
- Rotate and cover UCSF locations as required.
- Requires 2 or more years as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or equivalent for Senior Sonographer classification.
- Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.
- Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.
- Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and cover weekends and holidays and on-call shifts.
- Maintain ARDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.
- New hires who meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials held must also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills; the Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at the discretion of the Section Chief and Section Supervisor.
- Recent work experience in an acute care setting (hospital setting).
- Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.
- BLS - Basic Life Support.
