Lead - Medical Assistant at Astrana Health
Location: 1518 Noriega St., San Francisco, CA 94122
Compensation: $26.00 - $31.00 / hour
Department: WLQ - Clinic Ops
The Medical Assistant provides administrative and clinical support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical clinic. This role supports providers and patients through tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The position reports to the Regional Clinic Manager and supports scaling within the healthcare team.

What You’ll Do- Assist physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a provider
- Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records
- Clinical duties may include preparing a treatment room for patient exams, recording patient medical history, and cleaning and sterilizing equipment
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and document information in the patient’s chart
- Interview patients to obtain medical history
- Record patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files
- Maintain attention to detail and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
- Prioritize workload while remaining flexible
- May be required to work overtime to meet deadlines
- Additional duties as assigned
- 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Front office experience in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent customer service skills
- Maintain a high level of professionalism
- Proficient in MS Office and patient management software
- Phlebotomy or laboratory experience preferred
- Bilingual Chinese fluency preferred
- Onsite position located at 1518 Noriega St., San Francisco, CA 94122
- Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, including one Saturday per month - Total compensation target range represents the national target range for this role: $26.00/hr - $31.00/hr
