Job Summary
This position serves the project director for two adolescent health programs: the Rural Education and Development for Youth Program (Office of Population Affairs) and Meet Me on the Pitch (National Institutes of Health). This role involves directing projects, managing partnerships, and contributing to data analysis and report generation for federal funders. The position will oversee studies by providing technical support to local implementing partners, facilitating and coordinating community engagement efforts, and collecting qualitative and quantitative data.

The Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies (PRL-IHPS) is dedicated to solving complex health policy problems through research, training, technical assistance, and public service. It emphasizes translating interdisciplinary research to inform health policy and improve health care worldwide, with a focus on vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities- Project administration and oversight of adolescent health programs.
- Manage timelines and ensure delivery of project milestones and federal reporting requirements.
- Coordinate data collection, program evaluation, and analysis for both quantitative and qualitative components.
- Serve as primary contact for federal funding agencies and partner organizations (e.g., Fresno EOC, Fresno Superintendent of Schools, Soccer Without Borders).
- Lead the development of peer‑reviewed manuscripts, reports, and presentations to convey findings to academic, organizational, and community audiences.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student interns, and organize community and youth advisory boards.
- Contribute to grant writing and support additional studies, including conducting interviews, focus groups, and observations.
- Perform literature reviews, meeting logistics, and enrollment of study participants as needed.
- Occasional travel across the state for meetings, conferences, and fieldwork.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience or training.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of common organization‑ or research‑specific computer applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to analyze, research, and synthesize large amounts of data for sound proposals and analyses.
- Strong multi‑tasking ability with demanding time frames.
- Strong presentation and group facilitation skills for meetings and trainings.
- Demonstrated sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
- Master’s degree in public health, statistics, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish.
- Strong policy analysis techniques.
- Experience and interest in sexual and reproductive health education.
- Experience working with governmental agencies.
- Experience working with youth.
