Job Summary:

Your Role as a Mobility and Independence Enabler

We re looking for a safe, reliable, and caring Driver to join our supportive team. In this important role, you will provide safe transportation and mobility support for our clients. Specifically, you will help clients maintain their independence and community connections. Your driving skills and compassionate approach are vital. This means ensuring safe, comfortable transportation experiences. You will help clients access medical care, social activities, and daily needs.

Ultimately, this leads to improved quality of life and continued independence. You will be central to client mobility and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

What You Will Do
  • Safe Transportation Services: Provide reliable, safe transportation to medical appointments and social activities. Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and cleanliness. Moreover, follow all traffic laws and safety protocols consistently.
  • Client Assistance and Support: You will assist clients with entering and exiting vehicles safely. This means providing mobility support and carrying personal items. Also, you will ensure client comfort throughout transportation.
  • Appointment Coordination: You will manage transportation schedules and coordinate with healthcare providers. For instance, you will confirm appointment times and locations. You will also communicate any scheduling changes promptly.
  • Errand and Shopping Assistance: Accompany clients for grocery shopping and essential errands. This means providing assistance with item selection and carrying. Help clients maintain independence in daily activities.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate transportation logs and mileage records. For example, document services provided and any incidents. Communicate effectively with care coordinators and families.
  • Vehicle Safety and Maintenance: Carefully perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance. This covers checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness. It also includes reporting mechanical issues promptly.
  • Emergency Response: Actively respond appropriately to emergency situations during transportation. Follow established emergency protocols and procedures. Also, provide calm, professional assistance during medical emergencies.
  • Client Relationship Building: Build positive relationships with clients through friendly, professional interactions. Always treat clients with dignity, respect, and patience. Provide emotional support during transportation activities.
Qualifications:

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid California driver s license with clean driving record (3+ years). Commercial driver s license (CDL) preferred but not required.
  • You have extensive safe driving experience with excellent driving record. You can also navigate efficiently using GPS and local knowledge. This role requires defensive driving skills and traffic awareness.
  • You have strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Also, patience and empathy when working with elderly or disabled clients are essential. You are courteous, professional, and helpful.
  • You have reliable personal vehicle or ability to drive company vehicles. Current auto insurance and ability to pass background checks are required.
  • You can lift up to 25 pounds and assist clients with mobility needs. And you can work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Good communication skills and basic smartphone/GPS proficiency are important for coordination.
  • You truly want to help clients maintain their independence through reliable transportation. You are committed to providing safe, comfortable, and dignified transportation services.
