PracticeCoordinator – Breast Surgical Oncology

- Roles & Responsibilities:
- Represent the administrative team as the public face of the Practice and collaborate closely with administrative, clinical, and management teams to support practice operations and customer service recovery and intervention efforts.
- Provide support to all functions of the administrative teams including, but not limited to: CRM messages, telephone encounters, referrals, APeX in‑baskets, scanning, filing, authorizations, and billing.
- Maintain all routine clerical operations and communications, adhering to UCSF House and Telephone Standards.
- Resolve complex transactions and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment while maintaining sensitivity to the needs of patients, staff, and providers.
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring accurate information flow between medical staff, hospital staff, and departments to maximize unit efficiency.
- Work at any UCSF campus as required.
The salary range for this position is $31.91 – $45.70 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications- High School graduate or equivalent with four years related experience; or a college degree and 6 months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pass postal fingerprinting protocol and approval to be a cash collector if applicable.
- Strong computer skills; basic keyboarding; proficiency with at least two Office‑type software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to navigate multiple patient record systems.
- Ability to analyze situations, prioritize, and develop solutions with sound judgment.
- Work independently and under minimal supervision, managing workload and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills over the telephone and in person.
- Basic math skills; ability to handle a variety of individuals sensitively and effectively.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and writing skills (compose, edit, proof documents).
- Demonstrated administrative/office coordination skills and knowledge of medical practice terminology.
- Within six months of the start date, complete the proficiency checklist with the Supervisor covering referral entry, surgery scheduling, work queue handling, test result entry, messaging (CRM), telephone encounters, and other clinical workflow tasks.
- Experience in health care (medical, dental, veterinary) in patient scheduling, insurance verification, medical record data abstraction, or patient financial services.
- Prior experience with appointment, ancillary service, or surgical scheduling or a combination of all three.
- Bi‑lingual or multi‑lingual capability (e.g., Spanish, Cantonese, Russian) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with EPIC.
